Like most, I spent much time and effort establishing who I was: my jobs, my family, the causes I espoused. Now, after 74 years, I realize the only thing that matters is the time and effort I spent understanding my identity in Christ. The more we understand who He is, the more we understand who we are.

"Helping others" can be a misnomer. If you are helping others without also pointing them to Jesus, then you aren't helping them. You are actually hurting them.

3.
The Super Bowl. What a monument to what counts least in the Kingdom of God. And I'm not talking about the game on the field.

4.
Ran across this verse in 2 Corinthians 5. Pretty much explains a true Christian's mindset. We're not primarily into vegan, pets or the Golden Girls: 11Therefore, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men.

5.
So much for "man is basically good and if we all pull together we can achieve world peace." If we did achieve world peace without Jesus, it would be the worst abomination ever. God himself would prevent it because that is the Antichrist spirit that got us into this to begin with, starting with Adam.

I am having less and less problem with the immigrants from the South, other than the sheer numbers which are somewhat concerning. Contrary to what I believed growing up, they seem hard working and not looking for a handout. Not unlike how this nation was built. We stole their land from some of them. Many of them believe in the same God America has historically believed in. They don’t need to give up their culture but they do need to learn English. But that should resolve itself by the second generation.

If you can see people and issues from God's perspective, then you don't get angry or upset. You understand why people are doing what they do. You see issues differently. You know God is in control. This applies from national, or even world, issues and people all the way down to what happened to you at lunch yesterday.

"Fear" is "not trusting God."

9.
You can talk about God all you want, but mention Jesus and they try to crucify you.

10.
If you don't follow the Bible, then your God will have the same values as you.

"Pride goes before a fall" is never truer than in the spiritual realm. Pride caused Satan to fall. Pride essentially caused Adam and Eve to fall. Pride really is the most insidious sin. Every belief system except Christianity allows you to keep your pride. But no one can truly believe they are a sinner and need Jesus, and keep their pride. Jesus is the litmus test for pride. That's why He is the only way to God.

Life is as simple as 1-2-3:
1. God created us for relationship with Him;
2. Sin broke that relationship;
3. Jesus restores it.

Disney has never been Christian. What with its witches, goblins and magic, biblically it's closer to demonic.

14.
If you read or hear that the Big Bang is fact and not theory, don't believe it. I've been doing some reading and it's unbelievable the statements that are being paraded as fact.

15.
Nothing wrong with large church gatherings but I really feel the early church model was small groups who got to know each other to where the gifts of the Spirit could start to manifest.

16.
Easter is a lifestyle, not a day.

17.
When experiencing symptoms of sickness you don't deny they are there. You deny their right to be there.
5But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

18.
You never condemn anyone with the cross but there are times you must risk offending someone with the cross.
"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."

19.
Non-Christians will be judged on how they responded to Christ.
Christians will be judged on how they responded to being Christ-like.

20.
God gives continuous revelations about Himself. If you seek the revelations they will not come. But if you seek Him, they will.

21.
Trying to make the most out of every day can be Buddhist thinking. What does that even mean?

22.
Life can be compared to a game. Not like Monopoly where if you lose it's no big deal. Life is more like the Roman gladiators. In the spiritual world you are in a fight to the finish. You lose, you die spiritually. That's the death you are to fear, not physical death. Make sure you are wearing the armor of God that the Bible talks about.

23.
There is a way that the fossil record and the Bible are both true. There has to be. They are both the work of God. God has not revealed how they both are true. I think I know why but it's only my opinion.

24.
Jesus doesn't remove negative memories but he removes the negative emotions of those memories. He removes their sting.

25.
Everything in the physical world is controlled by the spiritual world. It's either God's kingdom or Satan's kingdom. The only thing that is in our control is the free will choice of which kingdom we want.
